State Supreme Court Justice Larry Starcher disrupted a
meet-the-candidates event last week in Charleston, shouting from
the audience at Judge James J. Rowe, a Greenbrier County
Democrat who is running against incumbent Justice Warren McGraw.
Decisions
The state Supreme Court should issue decisions before the

Critics complain that a pro-plaintfif, business-hostile majority
on the state Supreme Court -- Justices Warren McGraw, Joe Albright and
Larry Starcher -- hurts the state's economy. The high
court does have the power to affect the state's business
climate. Rulings hostile to business mean few corporations are
willing to risk capital here. And when businesses either won't
consider West Virginia or decide to bail out of it, say the
advocates for economic growth, West Virginians don't get jobs.
